MET MAST AT WOOLLEY HILL WIND FARM REMOVED

Work to remove the meteorological monitoring mast situated on the Woolley Hill Wind Farm site has begun today. Located to the south of turbine T01, the 80m high test mast which was erected in May 2013, has been continually recording data to provide the RES project team with a comprehensive understanding of the wind capacity and climate at the site.

Paul Sanderson, RES Asset Manager, explains:
"The meteorological monitoring mast has done an excellent job of collecting data over the past three years to enable us to accurately monitor wind farm metrological conditions and hence wind farm performance. Work to dismantle the mast will take approximately 2-3 days with mast sections taken down on site and removed in standard sized lorries to prevent any disruption on local roads."

As part of the decommissioning work, the mast’s location will be reinstated to its former condition once it has been dismantled and removed from the site.
