Woolley Hill Wind Farm became fully operational on Monday 9th March 2015.
The four turbine wind farm is capable of generating sufficient renewable electricity to power around 7,500 UK homes1.
It also delivers direct community benefits to local people in the form of a £100 annual electricity discount for properties within 2km of the turbines, plus a Community Fund of £20,000 each year to support local projects.
1 The homes figure has been calculated by taking the average annual electricity generation of the site and dividing this by the annual average electricity figures from the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) showing that the annual UK average domestic household consumption is 3,748 kWh (Dec 2021).
